Our Mission

Our mission is to preserve the Christmas traditions that have been hallmarks of American heritage and culture for more that 200 years. We celebrate the Christmas messages of "Merry Christmas" and "Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward Men." These messages have always been-and still are today-all inclusive and non-discriminatory. Americans of all backgrounds and cultures can share these messages of peace and joy. We believe that the traditional American Christmas tree is the symbol of these messages and the spirit of giving.

Christmas is a Federal Holiday. On Christmas, the President of the United States lights the National Christmas Tree on the White House lawn. And yet, across America, we now have "winter concerts" and "winter breaks" at school. There are "Holiday trees" in our town squares. Store clerks are instructed to say "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". Christmas trees are being removed from our public schools and replaced with "giving trees" or "giving counters". American culture and heritage is being changed. Soon our children will not know Christmas as it has always been celebrated is America.

Our Save Christmas rallies are being held for all us who want to keep the traditions and giving spirit of Christmas alive in America for our children and grandchildren. For me, it all started a little over a year ago.

On December 7th, 2005, Pearl Harbor Day, I stopped in to see my dad and thanked him for what he had done to keep our country free. He fought in World War II to preserve the ideals that make America a great land. I think of him as a hero. Dad just said, "Well, we did what we had to do".

Driving to work, I heard a talk radio show tell about yet another example of taking American Christmas traditions away form our children. A public elementary school replaced a Christmas tree with a "Giving tree". Then the Tree was replaced with a "Giving" counter. I remembered my dad's words and I thought: "All these men fought and bled and died for our freedoms and we can't even keep them from taking the Christmas tree? I must do something too!" I called the radio station and shared my dismay. I told the radio host that I was shocked this had happened. After I hung up the phone, I thought: "This isn't right, they are taking something away from us; we need to have a rally to save Christmas and bring back our Christmas trees". I called the radio station back and they kindly put me back on the air to tell people about my idea for the rally. That night, I started getting phone calls from people who wanted to help. I was put on the evening television news. So many people wanted to help that it brought tears to my eyes - I could not let these people down. I organized, with help from lots of supporters, and held the first "Save Christmas" rally in Seattle in December 2005.

But this is not about me, and it is not about changing anything in American life - it is about saving Christmas. The rallies are a gift to America's children - A gift to America's future - and our gift to you.
